mitiga{\c{c}}{\~a}o das mudan{\c{c}}as do clima vem sendo
estudado por cientistas para entender qual sua
contribui{\c{c}}{\~a}o no sequestro do carbono da atmosfera.
Este trabalho teve o objetivo de estimar a biomassa e carbono da
VS no Par{\'a} em 2014. O m{\'e}todo utilizou a vari{\'a}vel
GSDY, calculada com dados de idade da VS, temperatura e
precipita{\c{c}}{\~a}o. A vari{\'a}vel GSDY foi inserida num
modelo que gerou as estimativas. Foram mapeados aproximadamente
6,9 milh{\~o}es de hectares (ha) de VS no Par{\'a} o que
representou mais de 2 bilh{\~o}es de toneladas (t) de biomassa (1
bilh{\~a}o de t de carbono). Desse total mais de 2,8 milh{\~o}es
de ha de VS encontravam-se vulner{\'a}veis em 2014 de acordo com
as normas da IN08/2015. ABSTRACT: With the intensification of land
use and land cover change dynamics in the Amazon, Secondary
Vegetation (SV) is increasingly present in the region's landscape.
Scientists have studied its role in mitigating climate change to
understand its contribution to carbon sequestration from the
atmosphere. This work aimed to estimate biomass and carbon for SV
in Par{\'a} in 2014. The method uses the variable GSDY (Growth
Season Degrees-Years), calculated with SV age (TerraClass),
temperature, and precipitation data. The variable GSDY was
inserted in a model that generated the estimates. Approximately
6.9 million hectares (ha) of VS were mapped in Par{\'a}, which
represented more than 2 billion tons (t) of biomass (1 billion t
of carbon). In this total, more than 2.8 million ha of SV were
vulnerable in 2014, according to IN08/2015.",
